Yumi is an app that allows people who live close to one another to connect and meet, all while ensuring 100% anonymity for everyone involved.
Yumi is first-of-its-kind software that is designed entirely around the idea of people getting to know each other anonymously, and ultimately, meeting up. We only match you with people nearby, and once a match has been made, you’ve got 24 hours to start a chat, or the match will expire.
Easy. Registration requires no email, no phone number, no Facebook info. You don’t even need to provide a selfie if you don’t want to — you can opt for a 15-second voice message instead. Once you’re logged in, you’ll be dealt four “cards” with potential matches in your area under two of them. It’s a 50-50 shot, so there’s an element of luck involved… but that’s all part of the fun!
That’s cool. There’s a better chance of meeting someone if they know what you look like, but if you’re concerned about being identified, Yumi has a variety of built-in effects, filters, and stickers that you can apply to your pic to hide the parts of yourself you want to hide.
No problem! One of the things that makes Yumi unique is that we offer the opportunity for users to replace a picture with a 15-second voice profile, so potential matches can hear you before they meet you. Get creative!
No worries. The cards you missed will be reshuffled in 24 hours, so you’ll have 50% chance to flip them over, all over again.
An Extra Flip gives you a chance to try your luck by selecting one or more additional cards during the same round. So, instead of selecting only one card out of four, you get to select two or more! Free members have 1 Extra Flip everyday. Users who have Yumi Plus will get 6 more each day.
Once you’ve drawn someone, you have 24 hours to start a conversation. If you don’t, the opportunity disappears.
Once you’ve found a match, Yumi features a variety of in-app services that allow you to start a conversation. Text, location sharing, photo exchange, and voice services are all available in the Yumi app, giving you all the tools you need to chat and have some fun.
If you haven’t gotten back to them within 24 hours of being matched, your match automatically expires.
Both people have to send messages within 24 hours. Then the conversation is activated.
If you see an exclamation point next to a message you send, it means that the user has either blocked you from contacting them, or has deleted their account.
To delete a conversation, go the chat page you have open with the person, tap the ellipsis (...) icon on the top right corner of that page, and hit Delete this conversation.
You’re using too narrow of a narrow filter. Reset your filter to broaden your search, and try again. Or there aren't enough members in your area, please be patient to have more matches soon.
Yes, it's available for you to withdraw a picture you sent within 3 minutes in a chat. Also, you're able to delete a picture from a chat, but please note that the picture won't be deleted from the other person's conversation.
As being an anonymous app, we don't collect your email address, phone number or social accounts to create your account. Instead, we use a UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) which is generated randomly to connect you with your account. You will have more than one account on the Yumi app as a result of your UUID is changed when you: - Factory reset your device; - Use our app on a different/new device; - Reinstall the operating system of your device. If you have any problem to remove your repeated accounts, feel free to contact us at [email protected] and we'd be more than happy to help.
Currently, there is no option on the Yumi app to sign out. We’re considering it carefully for the future, though.
Yumi doesn’t require your face in a photo, but we want to make sure it features you. Also, we don’t accept pornographic images, nude images, or blank pictures.
Show yourself with voice by signing your favorite song, recite your favorite movie quote, intoduce yourself, or describe your idea match. We don't accept voice contains objectionable content, doesn’t feature you, or blank voice.
No problem. You can hide your profile when you’re not using the app, and can make it visible only when you’re searching for a match. All the better to limit your visibility as much as possible, if you’re so inclined. For security purposes, if you want to hide your profile, you’ll need to do it directly on the app. Please note that you’ll not be shown to other people. To hide, tap the Profile icon at the bottom left corner, then go to Settings > Show Me on Yumi.
It’s possible the person chose not to list a photo. Or, either the profile photo was moderated, or they have deleted their account.
For security purposes, if you want to delete your account, you’ll need to do it directly on the app. Please note that you'll permanently lose your matches, messages and other information associated with your account. Tap your profile image at the bottom right corner of main screen > Settings > Delete Account.
Like any other app: through your mobile device’s location services. These can be toggled on-and-off, but we recommend keeping location services activated. At its core, Yumi is location-based, and it’s impossible to meet people nearby without knowing where you are. Don’t worry — we’ll never share your location information with anybody.
If you want to display your location on a map, you’ll have to enable it by going to Settings. You can enable via Settings > Location > Show Me on the Map.
If you have given permission for Yumi to use your device’s location, then your location will be updated automatically if you have moved to a new place. You can also set your location manually if you think it’s wrong. Just tap the profile photo at the bottom-right corner for the screen after you login. Then, go to Settings > Location, then click the “Edit” icon. The app will allow you to choose a new location on the map, or search for a new location.

As anonymous as you can get. Unlike other sites, we never collect your personal information — email address, telephone number, Facebook account, etc. — so not even we have any idea who you are. The only identifying information is your selfie, but you don’t even need to provide one of those if you don’t want to (and if you do, Yumi comes packed with a variety of filters, stickers, and effects so you can disguise yourself).
